Well, it seems to be fairly offical that summer is here!  We had an 85 degree day yesterday and it looks like we have a week of it coming.  I prefer any weather under 80 but my family loves the heat!  They get it from their Cali Dad.  So, after spending the morning in a cool 40 degree rink I returned home to a very sweaty and excited 5 year old.  ”Mommy.  We have been having soooo much fun outside and it hot.  Can you put my pool up?”

My first thought is it’s April, and I am still chilly from the rink.  Then I looked at my son.  Sweaty, a fine layer of grime covering every inch of him, and a huge smile under very cool new sunglasses.  ”Will it make you happy?”

“I promise it will.”  Responded with a smirk of knowing he is totally going to get what he wants.

“Let’s do it.”

Joey was able to get in a good hour of running full speed, then jumping into his pool, yelling, “Cantaloupes!”  Last summer he thought that is what you said when you jumped into a pool.  Not Cannonball.  He knows the difference now and just thinks it is hilarious to still do it this way.  So, we encourage his love of fruit in a very unique way.

When Belle woke up from her nap a suit was promptly adorned with suntan lotion and her trademark pigtails.  She had so much fun playing in the water!  I have to admit that I had a number of flashes to pictures taken of me at that age doing similar water play.  I know if Nonna, Renee, GG and probably Poppa, (and others I am not immeadiatly typing do to long list) were here they would have had a tear of sentiment flow.  She was a real life Coppertone baby.  Complete with Quincy (neighbors fluffy Cockapoo) pulling at her tush every now and then.  Good day.
